Multi Column Screen Flow was in pilot from Winter 21. But With Spring 21 we can now create Multi Column Screen Flow. As Spring 21 pre release orgs are now available for signup. We can now try this feature in our new orgs.
Create New Screen Flow
So First we need to go to Flows and click on New Flow button.
Here we have multiple types of Flow are available for selection. We can choose between CORE Flow or we can also select from existing template. For this demo we will select Screen Flow. You can choose any type between freeform vs Auto-Layout. I prefer Auto-Layout.
Add Screen Component
Now we need to add a screen Component. If you are using Auto-Layout then click on plus icon and select screen component. Now in the screen component list we see a new component Section. Drop this section on screen. So it supports up to 4 columns. Which is great addition as many time we need more then 2 column on screen and for that we go with custom development. Finally we can just use flow instead of going with custom dev.
Create Account Screen
For the Demo Purpose we will create an Account using Multi Column Screen in Flow. So we will Drag 4 fields here, you can add more field if you need.
We will also create one Create Record Action to create the Account Record.
And finally we will display a success message to users with record id of newly created account. For this we will create another screen component and display success message.
So this is how our complete flow will look like after we save it. The best part of using Auto Layout is we don’t need to connect different components. We just need to create them and they will auto connect with previous one. We can also add fault path to handle any exception.
Final Output of Multi Column Screen Flow
After we have completed all the steps we are ready to test our flow. So this is how our flow will run.
So are you excited for Salesforce Spring 21. Did you like the Multi Column Screen Flow in Spring 21. Let me know in comments. Happy Programming 🙂
